Platinum is a chemical element with the symbol Pt and atomic number 78. It's a dense, malleable, ductile, highly unreactive, silverish-white transition metal. Platinum is 30 times more rare than gold. It is an extremely rare metal, occurring at a concentration of only 0.005 ppm in Earth's crust. It is sometimes mistaken for silver. It is highly resistant to wear and tarnish, making it well suited for fine jewellery. Pretty nice right!
